Morris, IL | For planting into wide variety of conditions, strip till and conventional tillage corn stalks and soybean stubble, also might do some soybeans no-tilled into corn stalks although none this year. What is best type of row cleaner to use? Like to find something used to just see what we like before spending thousands on new setup just to find out it doesn't work? Mounted or floating? Planter is a JD 7200 12 row flex fold. Running JD 2x2 liquid openers so thinking in heavy residue they will do the cutting and row cleaners will move residue aside. Any suggestions guys, thanks in advance.
Attached a couple pictures of the strips that will be planted into.
Last pic is planting into soybean stubble that was strip tilled last year. We liked it but i'd like something that could smooth that off a little.

Morris, IL | http://www.moelleragservice.com/ They work just great, this planter came factory with the tubes to direct fertilizer into the furrow. Those tubes were worthless. Didn't have a bit of moisture on gauge wheels all spring with moeller knifes and didn't plug once even in 200 bushel stalks or tough soybean straw.

Morris, IL | That or GFX is what i'd call the ultimate. Hoping to not spend that much if i don't mind adjusting them a few times, maybe i'm wrong. Maybe another year or two, way to many other parts to put on planter this year. What will happen with floating row cleaners in conventional till ground? |

NC, IA 50653 | It depends... The spike or finger tooth do a real good job with not moving to much dirt and the sharktooth do a better job of moving heavy trash as well as cut it a little bit as its moving it but will sometimes move dirt with it. On our planter we use the finger tooth. |
