I f it were me I would look at a John Deere 6150R with an IVT. we had the opportunity to use a 7430 IVT this fall loading hay what a sweet transmission that is and it is also a very nimble tractor. yes it takes some time to learn the transmission but here is a you helpful hints. 1. glue your left foot to the floor. (use the clutch only as an emergency stop) 2. What the throttle and the slowest position and do not move it used the foot throttle! 3. Put the transmission selection knob in the number three position (road position). 4. make sure the break pedals are locked together!! 5. set your forward and reverse speeds to what you are comfortable with.
