So how hard is it to switch? That's probably what I worry about the most - getting going in one program then wanting to switch and finding it impossible or extremely time consuming to do so.

I am kind of leaning to Farmworks now. I've tried the free trials on both and I have found Farmworks less overwhelming.

Overal I have used both. My opinion is that farmwork is a better bet on a new farmer. It has tutorials to show you what to do but sms does also. Farmworks is more basic an can do anything an everything that you want it to do. I switched fully to farmworks an love it. I do variable rate mapping an i also send my maps out to the local co-ops for fertilizer. I love the simplicity of the system. If you have anymore questions on the system feel free to email me.
