17821x has your clue. Logger has relatively fixed costs- fuel, machinery, transportation, marketing will be about the same no matter the value of the saw log, so makes sense that his percentage goes down as the value of the timber goes up. I bet also there are significant variables with locality. The nearer your information, the better.
