we have a 12 T Belshe, electric brakes, 17.5 Budds, 18 ft wood floor with 5 ft taper-angle iron cross pieces there, with spring loaded ramps.

probably the best way to get elect brakes would be to trade trailers with someone who could use air brakes = change out the axles might even work.

you won't like 16 inch tires if you ever put a few miles on 17.5s = no trouble unless the tire is damaged...I fail to see how they can install 16 inch tires on a 12 T trailer and get by with it...Just too much weight...But they do that here a lot too.

17.5s are either 14 or 16 ply, hard to find that in 16 inch rubber.
