What makes a priest have the final say on whether to marry a couple if he has never even married himself?
I found this resource and spoke up. I guess stop reading them if you don't like it. I'm doing the dare with my girlfriend as well. Some will be a little harder to accomplish because we aren't married but I'm doing what I can.

Nathan, I will be married 41 years tomorrow, there is a lot of difference between having a girl friend and being married.
This is an old saying I've heard for years and I've found it to be pretty well right.
