Went to school with the pilot that Top Gun was supposed to be about (somewhat). His family ran a 5 and 10 variety store in town. Flew over his hometown once when he was home on leave. Low and fast about dark.
He flew back out in the middle of the day .......circled town a couple times then straight up barrel rolling-------IMPRESSIVE to say the least..
