We went without a pit for a small dairy for a long time, then got a cost nrcs equip cost share to do it. It is the best improvement to the dairy in a long time, it saves an hour a day and we can't own a spreader for the 2500 that the custom app guy pumps it out and spreads evenly in 1 day. We have found that the nutrients are applied, incorporated and utilized much more efficiently with one pit pumping vs daily haulin.
