You are exactly correct Jeremy. If a person could make 3 plus bales per acre, if we could avg. 30 ton of beets per acre and 200 bpa on corn and count on those numbers every year, a little lower prices would work for a while. But, we dare not pencil those numbers in and expect it to work all the time. As stated many many times on agtalk, "show a farmer a nice profit and he will show you a surplus" and that is what has happened with beets and I'm guessing with cotton.
