you don't mention what kind of cattle or how many. DIL never had a shed for his feeders. The beef breeds are hardier than the daity breeds. Big cob pile or one of corn stalks. BUt if winter is harsh, a pole shed wih a roof and a cask to the prevailing winds is a nice shelter for them. Gives them a place to stand out of the wind.
