| My cousin drove for 25 miles at highway speed on dry pavement with his pickup in 4wd without noticing that it was in 4wd. Then it broke one of the front cv shafts. He put a new shaft in and within a couple of weeks it broke the same shaft again. What would be causing this? Is the differential locking up? I haven't looked at it yet. How difficult is it to get the front diff out on these pickups? TIA |

Brandon, SD | Don't know what would be causing it, does it turn freely when jacked up? Removing is very straight forward there is two bolts on the drivers side and two on a flange on passenger side, unbolt cv's, and one electrical connection on top of diff case from what I remember |

SC Kansas | They come out easy. Idk why he would break 2 back to back. I had to change the stub axle on the driver side. |

sc ia | If the front differential was going bad it would be noisy. Make sure it's not stuck in 4wd. |

| Does he have matching tires on all 4 wheels? Mismatched wear tires will tear up a Differential in a few miles.
