Sunnyside, WA | We had our two 1022's for 3.5 and 4.5 years. In that time, the augers showed very little wear. Only replacements for the augers were the leading edge and the kickers. The older one was within a year of needing a liner. Main problems were the planetaries and two speed gearbox in the front. Gearbox was fixed by rotating it 90 degrees so the pto from the tractor was lined up straight. Planetaries started to fail a lot, but I think it was due to the 4 loads per day that we traveled 1.5 miles then tried to turn the pto on again. Had start welding on the V's in between the two augers also. Both of these wagons mixed 15+ loads each per day for their whole life here. Last straw was when both wagons lost a planetary on the same day in December (happened to be my birthday. Got home at 11 that night after finishing feeding). Can't complain about the service from Loewen. They are a top notch company.
Bought one Trioliet 3600 and realized we could make 18 loads per day instead of 28. Time and fuel savings alone paid for the larger mixer. Then it is also nice to have a matched set. Only mixers I could find that my JD 8110 and 8200 had enough hp to operate. Everyone else wanted 225-250 hp for the same size mixers. Have welded some on the augers, but the new 4000 we just bought has updated augers and all of those issues have been addressed. Was scared of electronics, but those have worked quite well. | |
