Southwest OK | A good worming and mineral program will help immensely. Neglected cattle tend to have high parasite loads from eating short grass and not being able to leave a buffer area around their piles. Malnutrition means mineral shortages. I my opinion probably the most important part of rebreeding heifers is to make sure all of their mineral requirements are met. Very important part of their cycle. I would also wean calves. Feed the highest quality hay you have and whatever supplement you are comfortable with. Good luck. Sounds like a set worth the effort. | |
