SE SD | I agree that when we take nutrients off we need to replace them. However, if the biology is doing what it is supposed to and the soil contains the amount of air that is needed, the biology can pull some of the nutrients from the air. This in addition to the plant taking in some through the stomata from the leaves. I don't believe we fertilize forests very often.
I can't find the notes from an experiment that was done where the soil in a container is weighed and seeds planted and after the plant was fully grown everything was weighed out again and there was a lot more weight compared to the plant mass, soil and water that was applied. The only other place that this could come from was the air and through biological ionization. I am not saying I understand it but I think Reams knew what he was talking about. Either promote biology or apply the pounds | |
