N.W. Illinois | Not to many years ago the anhydrous manufacturers were bleeding money big time. High natural gas prices and so-so demand really put a squeeze on them. Imports of cheap alternative N also hurt. Many plants closed. no improvements or expansion were made at existing plants, certainly no new plants were being built.
Recently I have heard of several new plant under construction or planned, along with expansion of existing ones. Hopefully this will lead to some competition and cheaper prices. | |
