Guymon, OK | I have to plug Alloway every time this topic comes up. I really like ours. It's a center drive, so it will leave a skip in grass or weeds, but that isn't an issue for us. I set a fire with our old belt drive Loftness once, don't really want to go through that again.
We looked at a Rhino at a farm show before we got the Alloway, and it looked like a good machine. I was told here that the Rhino is what used to be made by a company called Dandl. I have a lot of experience with the neighbor's old Dandl and like it, aside from the facts that it was a pull-type and desperately needed new knives. The belt drive doesn't have the idler pulley to tighten the belt, which gave our Loftness and Buffalo shredders a lot of trouble. | |
