I stopped side dressing several years ago. I use a N stabilizer, apply all at planting or shortly thereafter. My yields are as good or better as when we side dressed. Of course a "good" corn crop here is 150 bu/a., I only apply 160 actual pounds of nitrogen. Some don't believe in the stabilizers, I saw it work, HERE, and I will continue to use it.
