Morris, IL
I wouldn't count on getting more then 1.5 bags of corn per 1.6 bushel hopper. Now that is the stuff clear to 60 lb and more at times. I like to load up same amount every time, tender knows how many bags to bring, i know i'll be able to get them to fit. That said i normally only fill 1 bag due to liquid fertilizer reasons. 3 bushel boxes i would expect double that. Thing about 3 bushel boxes and even 1.6 boxes when full it they are heavy. Lot of compaction where your corn plant is going to be sprouting in few weeks. I know the idea of trying to get as much done in short amount of time but corn is still $7 plus, get a bigger planter and do best possible job.

Seed corn varies in weight a lot, all corn we plant is 80,000 seeds a bag. I think i've seen as light as 33 lb. a bag to 63 lb. a bag. The heavier the bag the less seeds will fin is same box as light corn.
