Franklinton, LA | If you are really interested in tile, I would suggest porcelain rather than ceramic tile. Also, I like epoxy grout in lieu of cement grout. Edited by DRester 11/8/2012 19:49

King City, Mo | I'm putting snap stone porcelain tile down in our new house in the kitchen and all the bathrooms and entry ways. My FIL likes it better then the wood floor they put down in there house. It snaps in and comes in 8 colors i think. I have done the brick and multi pinwheel pattern. The stone/grout costs more but it's faster to put in and doesn't have to have cement board ect under it. You can put it right down on concrete or wood floor. We put some electric heating mats under it so it won't be cold to talk on in the winter time in the bathrooms.

Driftless SW Wisconsin | +1 on the porcelain tile/epoxy for flooring in a high traffic area. That's what I put in from the office and garage entrances through laundry room and kitchen. Also in bathrooms. Easy to keep clean. There are a lot of differences between porcelain and ceramic tile. One primary one is the porcelain textured tiles are not as slippery if they get wet. Wet ceramic tile is like ice only worse. Had ceramic in a bathroom floor and it is downright dangerous when wet in my opinion. Lots of color options for tile and grout. Jim at Dawn This is the porcelain tile I used (12" x 12") on high traffic floors Very pleased with it. Get a good professional installer though. Well worth the cost.
