Deckerville MI | Kevin: I like and use both. I have a small tank on my planter for pop up and use saddle tanks for 2x2. I feel pop up works best if below the seed. Reason being I like to have a little N & Phos there until the roots can get to the 2x2. In the 2x2 I like to put on the mother load of fert. Once the roots get there there set.
