Lapel, In | Absolutely it is not all supply and demand. I have felt for some time now that there are some almost frantic investors looking for places of safe haven against what they see as an extremely good chance for wild inflation occuring and this is one of the big pushes behind the commodities markets at present. If they are correct, they will reap millions in profits because of the leverage the futures markets afford, all the while they are protecting their wealth in the mean time. The smart ones pulled out of the stock market as soon as they got wind of the sub prime melt down. Probably some of the same ones who went through the tech stock melt down and weren't going to get caught again. A fascinating time in financial history in the making.---There will be huge winners and huge losers before it settles down, in my opinion. | |
