Subject: RE: Oppertunity costs are just as real as out-of-pocket costs.

Medicine Mound,TX
If I spend a ton cash renting land and then drought wacks my hay crop, resulting in a cost of $200/ton of hay, then do I really care if a stack burns down? Depends. It depends on what the hay is worth, or at least what I can replace it for. If I put it up very wrong like my idiot neighbor Bob does, then it's junk. Worth maybe $20/ton. If I feed it then every ton is only costing me $20 cuz I could replace the junk hay for that.

So, you don't care about the real 200 dollars that left your bank account, but you do really care about the pretend 20 dollars that you could have the opportunity to spend to replace that junk hay, Well YEEE HAWWWW!
