NEMO | I have been in the jury pool several times. Lost count how many. I have been called to the court house for jury selection 5 times, twice being selected. One was a statutory rape case, the other a child endangerment case. The other 3 times we came into the court room, sat down, waited for a couple of hours, then was told to go back home due to a last minute guilty plea. After the last false alarm, I called the judge's office and explained that each time I got called in that we were told that we would probably never have to serve on the jury pool again. Seeing as how I had already sat in on 2 jury selections, I figured I had done my duty as a citizen, and he excused me from the pool. The next pool selection, they selected my wife. LOL! I guess they wanted to keep it in the family. I have never been a plaintiff nor a defendent, or even a witness, but I will say that it is interesting to see the judicial proccess from a juror's perspective. |
