Most around here had it stashed in cream cans buried in the grove. They had gardens for vegetables, raised and butchered their own meat, had wood for heating, and didn't know there was a depression. I don't think we could survive like they did back then because we have lost many of the skills they had. The people in the cities would be in deep trouble.
