Subject: RE: Dairy Dilemma advice-young guy starting out

Lots of good advice. One thing to keep in mind is you will put a lot of time into starting out with either situation. Make sure you have an exit plan in case things don't work out. Also , the best advice or saying came from an old dairy farmer who said you are guranteed to make a living, you are not guranteed to make a profit. In other words there may not be enough money a lot of the time, but you always have something to sell if you have to. May not be what you want to hear, but I hope you understand this. I'm 53 , family dairy farm forever, and I have no clue how the next generation will make this work. Good luck, Ron [ My dad said the same thing !]
