Locally their is an older gentleman that is pretty wealthy (from off farm investments) and he wants someone to take over his farm. He supplies most of the machinery, all of the land and the housing for the people on the farm and their livestock. The older fellow insists on a lot of stuff be done "his way" since that is what his dad did 50+ years ago. A "few" things have changed since then and the farmer is often doing things the landowner wants done that are mostly hurting them.
What ever you do I would try to get into it with the least amount of debt possible, don't step over a dollar to pick up a nickle but do things that will avoid interest. Interest is almost always wasted money. With some patience you could have bought it with cash and saved thousands. | |
