Blooming where I am planted! | We went over to two friends of ours today to help them process 25 Freedom Ranger chickens, and brought one of our own roosters to butcher. It was a great day and we got the job done in good time. There were 5 of us on the job, with 1 human chicken (adult) on the sidelines. I got to do all the parts I didn't do earlier in the year--slit throats, eviscerate, and hone my machine plucker skills. We were working in the shade where it was a bit cold, and it actually felt good to have a hand in a warm chicken during evisceration. Plus, my hands got some very nice moisturization from all the lanolin in the chicken fat and tissues. All in all a good day and I'm glad we're done butchering chickens for the year. |
