You only need a CAT policy if you want to be included in the SURE program, the disaster plan in place since 2008.
There is a lot more to the RP policy as Pete stated, an agent can explain all of that. Insuring your 1/3 will not be costly, and you can carry hail insurance seperate from the Multi Peril.
