South Central Kansas, Harper County | Very poor wheat stands in Harper and Sumner counties of Kansas, two of the largest wheat producing counties in Kansas. Some wheat has not even emerged from the dust, due to lack of moisture. Same reports, scattered throughout rest of Kansas and Oklahoma. Where the showers have been spotty, wheat is green and looks decent, but continued dryness will make this wheat go backwards, fast. I'm very friendly long term wheat futures, just wish I had some crop to benefit from the price. |
