Subject: Re: Paper or machine? Voting question

WCIL
Only younger people want to vote on the TSX machine in our precinct. About the only time we have a line to vote is when the younger people are lined up waiting to vote on the TSX. 20 people can vote with paper while 2 people vote on the TSX. Since the state of Ill changed a law you can't over vote on the Optiscans. If you overvote a race it kicks your ballot back out.

We also find the TSX VERY DIFFICULT to set up. Winding and rolling the paper, We broke the key last time when we took the oath and setup person closed the doors while key was in it. Different key cards, it is heavy, We have had only 1 person in 5 years take advantage of the handicap feature. She forgot her reading glasses so rather than go home and get them, (a 5 minute trip), she took advantage of the large print option.

We are a 2 township polling place. A total of 700 voters if they all showed up. We can expect about 65% voting on Tuesday. Best of luck to you. May you never have to get out some of those forms.
