I can't answer your questions, but if Jim wants to graze corn instead of combining, storing, drying, grinding and hauling it back to the cattle, then that is his business. It works for him. I have done the same thing on a limited basis, several years ago, and I know it can be made to work. Clover seed is a lot cheaper than nitrogen on a pasture. I happen to enjoy reading Jim's posts and looking at his pictures. Not all cows can be raised that way, but a majority could be if more people were open minded enough to try it.
