Winter wheat is probably where I can produce the most consistent high yields. In drought years I can bang out a 55 to 60 bu average. I have always been able to raise super winter wheat, however the only place to raise it is on spring wheat stubble. I am told field pea ground is a super place for it, but we are a long way from good field pea markets. Our area got started with a few growers and when beans were less than the $6.50 to $6.00 mark they would hold there own.. But this year they really fell out of bed. | |
