Itta Bena Mississippi | Kimmel Aviation/Dixie Dusters(Frank and Mark Kimmel) own A T-6 and interest in a F4U-5 Corsair through their insurance business. Mac MacNeer has the T-28. The Corsair winters here and spends the summers in Wisconsin,and runs the national airshow circuit.
The Greenwood Radial(VOR/TACAN) is right in the middle of the farm, so we get everything from the Columbus AFB Texan IIs, Little Rock AFB C-130s to everyday bugsmasher on final to the Greenwood airport. Back in the day, when the reserve outfit in Meridian had RF-4s, we were one of their turning points. They came through at 500 feet and 500mph, so you had to be quick/lucky to catch a glimpse of them. Usually, all you got was the noise and a smoke trail.
