| Brassicas hybridize readily with each other, you may have a unique breed named after you: Brassica rapa subsp. southernokia!
Cultivated brassicas tend to escape the fields too. If cows don't graze it, maybe it's a strong Dijon mustard... ;)
Leave some for next year and post again, it's easier to identify from the flowers.
By the way, is Brassica rapa subsp. oleifera or campestris grown in the U.S.?
It was grown as an oil seed in Europe before being replaced by rapeseed, and now as a cover crop only I guess, not sure it ever made it to the U.S.
It's called something like "turnipette" in French ("navette"). | |
