AgJudge - 10/13/2012 12:01 I didn't say a thing about being entitled to a thing, but apparently it helps you justify.

" get pretty tired of the argument that these jobs are not 'living wage'. That is BS. "

You need to get out more. A lot more.

AJ

Does this, from your first post, incinuate that these jobs are NOT a living wage?

Fine, a job at caseys pays under $ 8 per hr starting. Rent / Mtg Food Utilities car payment car ins Life ins health ins gas to get to work child care. god forbid an auto break down or little Jimmy breaks his ankle...... Do the math. Oh and its not like you can just say to the boss, Hey I would like 30 hrs of overtime please . LOL Is there anyone that farmers DONT look down on anymore ? Never used to be that way. Edit : One single misplaced letter can change the entire post AJ

If 40 hrs at Casey's is all they are going to GIVE, they probably shouldn't EXPECT to have a mortgage, car payment, car insurance, gas to get to work or child care.  That eliminates auto breakdowns and Jimmy's ankle deal.  If there's a Jimmy, there's a plan already out there to help with raising him.  It's sad, but sometimes people have to live within their means.  A 40 hour a week job at Casey's still leaves 128 hours in that week to work a full time job at Wal-Mart!  Unless, of course, you feel they're ENTITLED to something.  If there's a Jimmy, there could be a John and a Tammy (or a Timmy in some cases ;>), who could work 40 at Casey's, 40 at Wal-Mart, and 40 at Hy-Vee.  That would possibly make a mortgage, car payment, insurance, and gas doable.  Maybe not much of one, but there isn't a lot of expertise required either!

Maybe you should get on at Casey's and show everyone how its done..You make it sound so easy..
