Subject: Re: Case IH 7230 combine DEF problems

Tank has been completely drained and flushed. DEF is an enclosed 300 gal new tote(bulk unit). I don't have codes with me right now. But codes do lean towards more of an injection problem or sensing that we don't have injection?. Could that be faulty fluid? For 1.5 hours I monitored the DEF fluid readouts that can be viewed from the 700 monitor & noticed it would quit injecting the 5 to 2.5 kg/hr, thought I was on to something but was told that could be normal, that if I would stop & idle down & restart it would again inject normal amount of fluid. We were told that every 20-30 min. system does quit injecting fluid for a brief time. They have ordered new sensors that are on backorder, luckily new 7230 showed up on dealer lot and now we have all replacement parts! We are leaning towards process of elimination? Ran Friday 9 hrs with no shutdown after having replaced the large sensor(?) that is inside the DEF tank. Very much appreciate all input.
