do you mean there was no corn yield to measure? I assume so with the drought. But you never know though without measuring. I've done hundreds of plots and have come to the conclusion that just you can't make assumptions without weighing-you can't see an 8 bu difference. I understand risk vs reward but until we get more on-farm data of the effects of subsequent cash crop yields after any cover crop, we still don't know when the general end planting date should be. I think there may be a biological stimulation effect that triggers on germination of a cover crop but that is just a theory at this time. This is a great discussion and has caused me to expand my late planting of Tillage Radish test to other cover crop mixes as well which i plan to seed early next week. I'll have a control with no covers to compare- 1,500 ft X 3 reps of each treatment.
