Subject: RE: dry fertilizer handling?

I have twin hopper tanks that I had mounted on the C600 Ford and plumbed it into the hydralics for the hoist. One problem is the truck was a single axle and the tanks made it very top heavy and very unstable going into field driveways . Last fall I found a 35' step deck for a decent price and transfered the hopper bottoms to the flat bed that I can pull with the 4020 and use the hydralics to power the 2 augers coming out of the tanks on the flat bed. I have 2 plastic augers over the top of the fertilizer boxes on the 16 row JD 7200. I drive the augers on the planter with the planting tractor. We were very pleased with the setup. It took very little extra time to save a considerable amount of money banding fertilizer verses broadcasting.
