Kaukauna WI | It's a ring-drive unloader, so people say that will help.
We are shorter on cows because we a) had more than normal involuntary culling this summer due to mastitis and other misfortunes and b) tighter voluntary culling due to milk/feed ratio. We could still cull tighter.
We do have plenty of haylage but I'm a miser when it comes to haylage. I don't want to run out. And our new seeding isn't worth a darn. We'll hang on to our corn silage thank you very much, the fear of being short of feed is always in the back of our minds, but you are right, it is selling for $80/ton here.
The rest of your post is exactly what we were thinking.
We are also feeding molasses 4# a day right now. We heard we can feed as much as 11# but do I dare believe that? | |
