Browncows what do you store your hmsc in? If I had a silo or harvestore it would be a no brainer, or if i was feeding 800+lbs of hmsc a day. I would only be feeding 250-500lbs a day. I am sure my nutritionist is bsing me a little but a renaissance nutritionist is talking similar numbers.

How would or could I justify trucking in a whole load of soy meal. Let's say 20ton that would last me a long time, 10 weeks.

I only make 50lbs of milk and good componets. Everytime I put the pencil to making more milk using the grain scoop it looks like it work out the same money being made per cow per day.

If I knew I could come out .50$+ more per cow a day I would do it but it just looks like a lot of risk. If I only feed half of the hmsc and there is a issue and I loose half of the corn. The main thing is I'm just not set up to handle it the way I would like. If I did put up a bag it would add a half hour+ a day just for feeding with going and getting it and with 2 extra trips around the barn a day with the wheelbarrow feeding it.
