East River SoDak | I get what you're saying but in our country a couple months of green grass is the best thing to get a cow cycling and as long as they're not run down too much they'll gain back pretty quick to at least a bcs 5 if they're not already there and if they're not capable of it they're not much of a cow or have some other issue. Might be a different story if you're calving earlier and those cows are getting bred before or right at grass time. I've just never seen increased cow condition to be a benefit. (except for those cows that get down and their knees and try to clean up anything that spilled on the ground) haha. Used to creep feed for years but didn't think it payed so haven't done it for the last 5 years or so.
