North of London		Like you I live on the farm that I grew up on.
Almost 70 years now.

The other part of your question was why?
Well I always wanted to farm and got the chance earlier than I expected.
When I was in my last year of Ag school my father decided he was not making enough money farming to support the rest of his family and chose to get a job with a pay cheque.
He did not want to sell the farm and offered it to me to rent if I wanted.
I of course took that option rather than going into Ag business from school.
Rented for several years as well as another farm a couple of years later.
About 45 years ago i got married and we were able to buy the farm from my parents and they moved out and we moved in.
Had swine and a small beef feedlot at that time as well as some cash crop.
Quit the beef in the 1970ies kept more swine and bought more land.

Now semi retired, no livestock, so time to enjoy the grandkids and travel a little too.
