I live in the house I grew up in. My parents bought this farm in the 40s and built this house in 1956. My wife and I purchased the farmstead (house, sheds, bins and barn) from my parents in 1988. We moved here about 3 weeks before my oldest son was born.
I am priviledged to farm land that has been in my moms family since the 1860s and my dads family since the 1880s. A few weeks ago our bible study small group was discussing our hopes and dreams of the future. My response was I'm living my dream. I'm doing what I always wanted to do, what I believe God made me to do. I am blessed. Even though this year was/is very tough, I wouldn't want to do anything else or be anywhere else.
If my youngest son comes back to farm I will look for another place to live someday.
