 I live about 1 mile as the crow flys from the family home farm. I can see the home farm from the place I work now and I live in a house on the farm I work on. I'm about 30' from the shop.

 I work and live here, now 25 years, because after my dad died in a farm accident on our central Oregon ranch, where we ran our beef calving operation, my mom sold the home farm and all the land. It was her choice and much of it was because dad did not have mortgage insurance at the time.

 Between mom's auction and this............not a job, but I'll call it career position, I worked a few months at a tire store in the fall, then a chem/fert dealer during the winter and early spring. I was then hired by the cousins of my current employer for 2 years. Now over 25 years here.
