Texas/New Mexico Stateline | Happens all the time. Even when I use a new contractor. I had an electrician come out and do some work. I really didn't know him, but he knew my cousin and my granddad. I offered to give him a check when he left, said nah, he'd send a bill. About 6 weeks later, no bill so I called him and he said he just hadn't gotten around to it. He wasn't worried it seems.
Roll-a-cone manufacturing, a couple times I have picked up several hundred $ of stuff and they said they would rather send a bill. Didn't know me from Adam.
One thing that made me a little nervous, I called our local bank about a problem with my online banking account. I told them who I was and what my account number was and we went over the problem. They never asked for any identity verification like SSN or anything. Later I got to thinking about how easy it would be for somebody to call in saying it was me and could really wreak havoc. |
