Bank said they want a return on their machine investment, and charge a fee, forget what it was now, for its use. Maybe that's changed nowdays, but I quit having them sort it years ago when they started charging.

 The machine at the store gives you a choice or either paying their percentage, or if you donate the whole thing to a charity or something like that, they will give you 100% and a tax voucher or some sort.
