Two reasons to put your name on equipment.

First so potential landlords know who you are. And yes, that does happen. Just rented a piece of ground that was recently sold to a 'city dweller' who wants to move to country. Past farmer didn't want to work with him on taking out part of the farm for a house site and he didn't know any farmers.

Second, according to my son, 'so when motorist fly by you in the ditch (because you don't have a place to pull over) they can shoot you the bird and cuss you by name.
