Michigan. | Nope. Got the same phenomenon here.
Had it in the old place too. The sand(Yes we grow stuff in sand)tracked in, would EAT the wood floors even with daily sweeping. Re-finish it, and three weeks later it was ate up again.
Wife decided the new place wouldn't have that problem. LOL!
Natural slate tile, sealed with industrial Garage floor sealer on the whole main floor. End of problem.
The sand and mud gets mostly knocked off by the boot scrubber near the door, and sweeping every other day gets what falls off of me and the Dogs.
