Subject: Re: Tillage Radish in winter wheat

SW KS
We planted betweeen 1-2 lb/ac last year on about 150 acres in 3 different locations. When we planted our wheat it was Oct. 7th-14th last year and were sceptical about this as well. We had some get froze out but some made it thru the winter and had a few get above the wheat before it was harvested. We did not have any problems harvesting thru them but they did make it through our mild winter in southwest Kansas. They got about 5-6" of growth but nothing like a big plant that was a problem for taking moisture away from the wheat. We didnt have enough moisture to really let them get this big. Only thing I know is where we planted them last year on each plot the yields were better when harvesting. We had a field of irrigated get hailed and the differnces will pay for what the seed cost.
