An L or M is a conventional combine. N, R, and S are rotors. Tough conditions are no problem because the crop doesn't have to change directions via an auger front or elephant ears. The crop just hits the side of the rotor and starts spinning. I've never been in one, but I bet a Lexion would have very little trouble with tough beans.
